Long Play Sound is a wedding DJ service run by Martin Long, with 25 years behind the decks and weddings played across the UK and in Morocco and Italy. We cover the drinks reception, first dance and evening party, with club-quality sound and lighting, PAT tested kit and public liability insurance. Wedding DJ prices start from £450 and are quoted per wedding.
How we DJ a wedding
A wedding is not one crowd. It is grandparents, school friends, colleagues and the couple, all in one room, with a few hours to get them dancing together. Twenty-five years of reading club floors is what makes that work. We don't run a fixed playlist; we plan the shape of the night with you and then build the set around who is actually on the floor.
Drinks reception
Soul, disco, funk and easy classics at a level people can talk over. It sets the tone without competing with the speeches that follow.
First dance
We'll check the exact version and edit of your first dance song in advance, agree the cue with you and your venue, and make sure the floor is ready for what comes next.
Evening party
The part most couples remember. We start with records the whole room knows and build from there: disco, soul and funk into indie anthems, pop and, if the crowd is up for it, a proper house set before the last song.
Last dance
Agreed with you in advance. Some couples want a singalong, some want one last floor-filler. Either way, the night ends on purpose, not because the time ran out.
Your must-play and no-play lists
Please send them. We'll talk through the shape of the night beforehand: first dance, the tracks that matter, and anything you never want to hear. Must-plays get played. No-plays don't, even if someone asks at midnight.
Wedding DJ in London
We are based in London and our background is in London clubs, including Turnmills, Scala and Number 90. London wedding venues often have sound limiters, strict load-in windows and set finish times. We work within them, and if your venue has a house sound system, we can plug into it.
Weddings outside London and abroad

Sound and lighting for your wedding
Pioneer CDJs and turntables, powered speakers on stands, LED lighting and a lit booth. The PA is scaled to your room and guest numbers. All kit is PAT tested and we carry full public liability insurance; if your venue asks for documents, we'll send them straight over.
How much does a wedding DJ cost?
Our wedding DJ packages start from £450. Each wedding is quoted individually because the four things that move the price vary so much from one to the next:
- How many hours we play: evening only, or from the drinks reception.
- Where the venue is and how far we travel.
- The size of the room and guest list, which decides the size of the PA and lighting.
- The date: peak-season Saturdays book first.
