The music at an anniversary party
An anniversary party is a room of people who share decades, not just a date. The couple, their friends from the early years, their children and often their grandchildren. The music has to work for all of them, and the easy mistake is to reach for novelty records. Our core genres are disco, soul and funk, which is exactly the music that bridges those generations without tipping into cheese.
Start with the year they married
We'll ask for the year of the wedding, the first dance song and the records that mattered to the couple. Those shape the set. From there we move through the decades the room has in common, and read which ones fill the floor.
Silver, ruby, golden and beyond
- Silver (25 years). A room often split between the couple's friends and their grown-up children. Disco and soul for one, indie and pop for the other, and plenty that works for both.
- Ruby (40 years). The records from the year they married, and the soul and disco that followed.
- Golden (50 years) and diamond (60 years). Often an earlier start and a gentler evening, with the first dance song played again. We keep the volume where conversation is still possible.
Replaying the first dance
If you'd like the couple's original first dance played again, tell us. We'll find the right version and agree the moment with you.
Where we play
Anniversary parties happen everywhere: hotels, restaurants, halls, pub function rooms and homes. Our PA and lighting is scaled to the room, and if the venue has a house system we'll plug into it. All kit is PAT tested and we carry public liability insurance.
